Eligibility

Precollege Eligibility

PEOPLE accepts students in the 8th grade who plan to attend one of our participating schools. Our  program is designed for students with strong academic potential.

Prospective students must submit a completed application to be considered for admission. A minimum 2.75 grade point average for students in the Madison Metropolitan School District is required. For 8th graders in Milwaukee Public Schools, students must earn mostly proficient standards to academically qualify for PEOPLE.

If you are interested and would like to apply, find more information here!  Applications open the last week of January.

College Scholars Eligibility

When you complete the precollege program as a PEOPLE student and accept an offer of admission into UW-Madison, you are eligible for support from our College Scholars Program. PEOPLE College Scholars work with program advisors to help them navigate college life and obtain their degrees. Students who are eligible for in-state tuition and meet all other UW-Madison and PEOPLE requirements will receive a 4-year tuition scholarship.
