2022-2023 Annual Report
During the 2022-2023 programming year, PEOPLE continued to partner with students, families and program stakeholders to advance college access and success. Some highlights from this year include increases in the participation of precollege’s PEOPLE Summer University residential program (up 6.9 percentage points), attendance at our Academic Center for Enrichment (ACE) sites (up 7.4 percentage points), precollege students completing at least 8.5 credits of advanced rigor classes (up 1.3 percentage points), the number of precollege students achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher (up 2.1 percentage points), number of college scholars achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher in spring 23 (up 5.3 percentage points), number of college scholars receiving honors in Spring 23 (up 4.3 percentage points), and 119 college degrees conferred.

During the 2021-2022 programming year, PEOPLE continued to partner with students, families and program stakeholders to advance college access and success. The staff and students displayed a tremendous amount of dedication and persistence to finish the year successfully. 77% of precollege seniors who applied to UW-Madison were offered admission, the second highest percentage of admits in program history behind last year’s record percentage. The PEOPLE College Scholars Program conferred 74 degrees in the 2020-2021 academic year. This achievement was possible with the support of the institutions administrators, our dedicated program staff in the Madison and Milwaukee offices, and the commitment and fortitude of our students and their families.
2020-2021 Annual Report
During the 2020-2021 programming year, PEOPLE continued to serve precollege and college students despite the global health pandemic. The staff and students displayed a tremendous amount of dedication and persistence to finish the year successfully. 84% of precollege seniors who applied to UW-Madison were admitted, a record high for the precollege program. The PEOPLE College Scholars Program conferred 85 degrees in the 2020-2021 academic year.
2019-2020 Annual Report
The 2019-20 academic year was unprecedented in many ways. The history books will recount the global health pandemic that swept the globe, an uprising against police brutality and hate crimes, and the vast majority of human connection reduced to screens. Through tumultuous times, this program managed to continue serving students with minimal disruptions and admitted its largest class of incoming college scholars.
The PEOPLE College Scholars Program saw a 16.5% increase in the 4-year graduation rate from the previous year. This achievement was possible with the support of the institution’s administrators, our dedicated hardworking program staff in the Madison and Milwaukee offices, and the commitment and tenacity of our students and their families. The outcomes of of the 2019-20 work are uniquely special.
