PEOPLE Engage events are intended for Scholars to build authentic relationships within the PEOPLE community. These events are aligned with our guiding principle of Bridging Community, to foster connection within and across cohorts while strengthening Scholars’ sense of belonging. These events are student-led, planned and executed by members of PEOPLE’s Student Leadership Team.
Academic Success
Facilitate and help PEOPLE Scholars progress toward graduation and to ensure their college experiences enrich their lives intellectually, socially, personally, and professionally
Advocacy
Empower students to be critical thinkers and voice their personal, academic, and social values to address key issues affecting communities.
Bridging Community
Create a sense of belonging by connecting students to campus resources and other support systems, as well as developing, implementing, and facilitating programming that directly serves the needs of PEOPLE Scholars.
Global Leadership
Promote research, study abroad, and professional development opportunities to assist students in developing the skill sets and experiences to influence communities locally, nationally, and globally.
Student Leadership Team
The PEOPLE Student Leadership Team (SLT) is a part of PEOPLE Engage and is made up of scholars from all cohorts. Together, they create dynamic events and programs that empower students and foster community engagement within the PEOPLE program.
